Why choose Karen as your therapist?

Karen’s path to therapy isn’t a straight line — and that’s exactly what makes her so effective. After a 20-year career in banking, rising to manage a department of around 200 people, she experienced first-hand what chronic stress and pressure can do to the body and mind.

“In 2013 I developed tinnitus and hearing loss in my left ear. Medical investigations showed they were caused by stress and anxiety. I went through a course of therapy, sorted myself out — and decided I wanted to help people the same way I’d been helped.”

A different kind of training

Karen enrolled at the prestigious Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, where she was personally trained by Terence Watts — one of the leading figures in this field and the founder of the Institute. She graduated with a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and has continued investing in her skills ever since.

She is now trained to an advanced level in multiple therapeutic modalities — including BWRT®, various forms of Hypnotherapy, EFT, Kinetic Shift, and OldPain2Go. No single client receives every technique, but it means Karen always has the right tool available for your specific issue.

What makes her approach work

Because the work targets the logical, neurological part of the brain, Karen is often able to identify and help resolve issues far more quickly than conventional talking therapies — keeping sessions to a minimum and getting you back to feeling yourself again, fast.

Her background in managing large teams under pressure means she understands corporate stress, burnout, and the emotional cost of high-responsibility roles in a way that many therapists simply don’t.

Demystified

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Clinical, not a stage show

Clinical Hypnotherapy means Karen works as a therapeutic practitioner — trained to create real, lasting change — not a stage hypnotist performing for entertainment.

Hypnosis is natural

Think about how absorbed you become watching a film or reading a great book — that’s a natural state of hypnosis. You remain aware of your surroundings and fully in control throughout.

Conscious & subconscious

By combining in-trance and out-of-trance (cognitive) work, Clinical Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy reaches both parts of the brain — making change faster and more lasting.
