Does this sound familiar?
Anxiety appears in many forms
Drinking more
Using alcohol to take the edge off — more than you used to.
Not sleeping well
Mind won’t switch off at night. Waking up already dreading the day.
Overthinking
Worrying about things you never used to. Constantly replaying conversations.
Physical symptoms
Upset stomach, constant headaches, tight chest, sweaty palms.
Feeling flat
Not enjoying life the way you used to, but not quite knowing why.
Overwhelm
Emotions feel totally out of control — like you’re barely keeping your head above water.
Anxious about anxiety
The anxiety itself has become a source of anxiety. A cycle that’s hard to break.
Burnout & exhaustion
Running on empty. No energy left, even for the things you love.
“You may feel like your emotions are totally out of your control — but they are NOT. They are very much in your control. That is exactly what we work on together.”
Understanding the journey
Stress, anxiety & depression — what’s the difference?
01
Stress
Short bursts — can be useful
We all feel stressed sometimes, and in short bursts it can actually be productive — the fight/flight response kicks in, boosting adrenaline, energy, and focus.
The problem is when stress becomes constant rather than occasional.
02
Anxiety
Stress that doesn’t switch off
When stress continues over extended periods, the fight/flight reaction repeats without a break. Your body fills with cortisol, leading to rapid shallow breathing, nausea, light-headedness, and more.
Over time, more and more triggers get added to the list — until anxiety generates its own anxiety.
03
Depression
The brain’s protection mode
If anxiety continues unaddressed, the brain eventually slows everything down to protect itself from burnout. This is depression — not a character flaw, but the brain’s emergency response.
The good news: catching and treating anxiety early prevents this progression entirely.

The approach
Faster results than traditional therapy
Karen’s specialist anxiety therapy uses a combination of techniques developed over years of clinical practice. Rather than talking about the past for months, the work targets the logical, neurological part of the brain — where lasting change actually happens.
“I am able to help you recognise where your negative thought patterns are causing you to get in your own way, remove debilitating feelings and behaviours, and rapidly get you back into feeling in control of your mind and body again.”
Karen is trained in multiple modalities — BWRT®, Clinical Hypnotherapy, EFT, and more — so she can always select the right technique for your specific situation. No two clients are treated identically.
Sessions are available face to face in Thorpe Bay, Essex, or online via Zoom or FaceTime — whichever suits you best.
4-Session Rapid Anxiety Release Programme
1
Understanding your anxiety
We explore how your brain’s protective signalling works and map exactly how your anxiety has developed — so nothing is a mystery.
2
Breaking the pattern
Using a blend of proven techniques, we begin to interrupt and rewire the thought loops and behavioural responses keeping you stuck.
3
Retraining your brain
We work on the subconscious level — where anxiety really lives — to create genuine, lasting change rather than surface-level coping strategies.
4
Consolidation & control
You leave with the tools and confidence to maintain your calm independently — and the knowledge that you are in control, not your anxiety.
